Meet the Team

Chris Sharman

Chris Sharman

Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer

Chris has been working in the leisure industry since 1995 and his experience to-date has seen him progress from delivering parties and holiday camps at his local sports centre as a teenager, to high profile national and international roles for some of the sectors leading companies.

Chris is passionate about getting children and families active and whether through innovative marketing strategies or best-in-class product and service development, he has a flair for creating financially profitable products and strategies that truly engage children of all ages, increase participation and drive businesses growth.

Children’s activities, sport (particularly football) and fitness have always been at the core of Chris’ work. In 2010 he launched his own training and consultancy business focusing on the sector he loves. Since then he has been responsible for developing innovative products and cutting edge brands for various high profile national and international organisations; such as Disney, David Lloyd, Virgin Active, Thomas Cook, Challenger Sports, Fitpro and global children’s TV show LazyTown.

Away from work, Chris will either be seen at the gym, playing football, renovating his 1950s converted bungalow, or out with his dog Lucky, an ‘always welcome in the office’ Jack Russel cross Shih Tzu (only Chris could have a Jack-Shit as a dog!)

His 5-minutes of fame came as a teenager when he was runner-up in the UK National Table Football Championships with a then famous Andy Gray (ask your dad if you’ve no idea!) as the commentator for the final!

Lawrence Mills

Lawrence Mills

Marketing Manager

A background deep rooted in creative media, Lawrence weaves his passion for design, visual storytelling and creative thinking into everything he does. Lawrence believes all businesses, no matter how big or small, have a fundamental right to marketing enabling all to compete, innovate and allow their voices to be heard on a base-level playing field.

His strengths lie in his broad skillset working across media disciplines, be it high level concept and idea generation or complex multi-faceted project work. Lawrence brings his detailed precision and flexible agility to the table; on any given day you can find him wearing different hats and working with the team to achieve wow moments for each Topodium Group partner.

Growing up in the small city of Salisbury, Lawrence was actively involved in the Wiltshire/Hampshire music scenes, playing bass in a three-piece indie band. He enjoyed regular gigging, connecting with audiences and building the bands presence. Career highlights involve local radio plays, festival appearances and even supporting Jedward! (If you remember them?!) In the early days, Lawrence worked with like-minded friends to create short YouTube videos and supported local bands with music videos.

Tom Trenouth

Tom Trenouth

Marketer

Tom Trenouth is a Marketer at Topodium Group.

Arriving on the shores of the UK, strapped to the back of a couple of sea turtles, Tom came seeking a better life. Stumbling upon the doorstep of Topodium Group, he was welcomed with open arms. Thus, Tom’s marketing  journey began.

Living deep within the jungles of Thailand, Tom was raised by the nature surrounding him. Equipped with nothing but a bamboo shoot, Tom showcased his talent for creating artwork to his peers – three gibbons and an elephant. The overwhelming support allowed him to seek new opportunities to develop himself and spread his wings.

After competing in a national Muay Thai-pography contest, Tom decided it was finally time for a new venture. Topodium was the answer. Tom managed to adjust to the new way of living, though he’s still surrounded by animals (you didn’t hear that from me though). From taking part in charity runs to organising staff events, the team’s success and aiding those in need became Tom’s number one priority. If the team are thriving, and the partners are pleased, it’s a good day at the office.

When he’s not at the office, you can often spot Tom foraging for berries deep in the woodlands outside of Basingstoke. He may or may not be dressed up as Spiderman or a nun, which is a bit weird even for him. He has a hidden talent which allows him to locate the closest Nando’s within a 10-mile radius.

Fun Fact: he’s great at storytelling and ambiguous bios.

Amelia McDougall

Amelia McDougall

Marketer

Amelia hails from a long line of Highlanders (of the McDougall clan) with an inherited penchant for Scotch Whiskey.

She has been drawing since she was able to hold a pencil, and you’ll probably find her lurking in the back of a coffee shop with a large black Americano and her nose in her sketchbook. She is fiercely creative and specialises in illustration. She has used her drawing skills to bring characters to life and create whole worlds of brilliance and imagination, by way of skillful design, drawing and animation.

Amelia graduated from Winchester School of Art in 2017 and has been working in the creative and marketing industry for the past two years.

She has an avid passion for classical art and likes to loiter in galleries. Amelia aims to visit all the paintings and sculptures she has studied, wherever in the world that may take her. If she could own one painting in the world it would be “Ophelia” by John Everett Millais.

George Minto

George Minto

Junior Marketer

With a passion for social media, and a constant determination to learn about the full picture when it comes to building online communities and audiences, a role in digital marketing was made for George.

George’s love of marketing stems from his relentless passion for the world of social media. In an industry that is constantly innovating and adapting, social media and content make for an exciting journey. For George, constantly staying ahead of new ideas and platforms, and the changes in tone, techniques and trends, is part of the thrill when it comes to the world of Social Media.

Although George is relatively new in his journey into the working world, he has worked with a team of experienced marketers and has a natural ability to learn quickly from his mentors. He has begun to widen his skills in other areas of marketing, such as graphic design and content writing; his goal is to make his knowledge as broad as possible when it comes to the digital world. George thrives on learning new things, and he is always prepared for a challenge.

Outside of the office, George enjoys spending as much time as possible in the great outdoors, and he loves to walk. Every year for his birthday, George sits down with his whole family and watches (what he thinks is) the greatest comedy film every made, Hot Fuzz. He prizes himself on the ability to recite any scene you ask him too. He also has a very sporty past with multiple years of practise in Tae-Kwon Do and Football.
